Berhampur University
The Berhampur University came into existence on 2nd January 1967 being inaugurated by Dr. A.N. Khosla, the then Governor of Orissa and the first Chancellor of the University. The University was later shifted to the present site known as Bhanja Bihar, named after the celebrated poet of Orissa Kabisamrat Upendra Bhanja. Spreading over an area of about two hundred fifty acres the university is twelve kilometres
Khallikote University
A century old institution was started as a school in 1856 in Berhampur and became an intermediate College in 1878. Its earlier name was Native College. The name Khallikote Autonomous College was conferred on it in 1893 in token of the good gesture shown by Raja of Khallikote who donated 16.5 Acres of land. Degree classes in Arts and Science were begun in 1944 and in Commerce and Mathematics were started from 1963 and in other subjects in subsequent years under affiliation to Berhampur University. Again it stands as a lead college affiliated under Khallikote University since from 2015 and in 2021 this institution has been rejuvenated and started a new journey with hope, to inculcate innovation, creativity and success.
SBR Women's College
The S.B.R Govt. Women’s College, Berhampur is one of the distinguished educational institutions of Odisha. It had a humble origin on July 7, 1958 and functioned under the affiliation of Utkal University. It started functioning with only the Intermediate Arts classes in the building of the Government Secondary Training School, Berhampur. At the outset, there were only six Associatative Professors who sincerely devoted their time and intellect for the growth of the institution into its present form
